The purpose of this research article is to present
results of a study on Muslim moral
culture in the film “U-turn”, a production of Muslim for Peace Foundation on
White Channel. Data were collected from
conversations of Muslim characters that reflect moral culture and analyze based
on the concepts related to culture according to the National Culture Act B.E. 2485.
The study found six aspects of moral cultural as follows: 1) Diligence, 2)
Thriftiness, 3) Sacrifice, 4) Asking for and giving forgiveness, 5) Integrity,
and 6) Patriotism. These moral precepts
are all connected to morals and beliefs in the way of life among Muslims whose
lives are adhered to Islamic principles that are important for their patterns
of thinking and social behavior. It can
be said that Muslims are a group of people in Thailand who have unique cultural
patterns with adherence to Islamic teachings for their lives. The film emphasizes that Muslim moral culture
is not only part of the culture but also plays an important role in controlling
their lives and social conducts.
